THE
EARL BOBBY MOVIES
Believe it or not,
but in the late 60s there were also movies about Earl
Bobby. This is
because Earl Bobby originally is a traditional
austrian joke figure that
is daily part of the humor in Vienna. When peolpe talk
about Earl Bobby in
Vienna they know that there will be something to laugh
about. In the early
60s the figure of Earl Bobby became so popular that a
producer decided to
make movies about this stuff. He involved the austrian
Superstar Peter
Alexander into the idea, who actually played the
figure of the funny Earl.
There were a total of three Earl Bobby movies:

THE ADVENTURES
OF EARL BOBBY
This was the
first Earl Bobby movie. The story is quite simple:
Earl Bobby has a big
castle but no money, that's why he has to play the
entertainer for some
tourists, who want to visit his castle. Finally he
sees an opportunity to
gain some money, but his aunt gets is ill, so he has
to dress himself as a
woman in order to acompany the milionaries daughter
Mary during her voyage
through Europe. But he hasn't thought about Baron
Mucki, who has been
engaged as a private detective by Mary's
father...

THE SWEET LIFE OF EARL BOBBY
The second movie about Earl Bobby was much more
complex:
Earl Bobby and Baron Mucki are working together as
private detectives, but
they aren't very succesful...Suddenly they get hired
to investigate the
disappearance of some girls in southern Europe. That's
why they have to
dress as women. Earl Bobby becomes the Chief woman of
a dancing group.
When they make a tour through the atlantic ocean he
recognizes that he is
in deep trouble...
